The regular share account offers two important benefits to members:
- The initial $5.00 deposit establishes you as a “shareholder” of the credit union and entitles you to receive all the benefits of credit union membership.
- Our regular share account offers a generous interest rate, helping your savings grow more quickly. You can maximize your interest payment by taking advantage of our Payroll Deduction Plan or Direct Deposit.

Regular Checking Account
Expand your membership with our share draft account. Simply maintain a $300.00 average daily balance, or set up a direct deposit and eStatements and there will be no monthly service charge.
Platinum Checking Account
Make your money work for you with products and services you already use! With our Platinum Checking Account, you earn a higher dividend rate when your account meets the criteria below:
- Average daily balance $500.01 – $15,000.00
- Enrolled in online banking AND e-statements
- Monthly direct deposit of $500 or more
- 10 debit card transactions per month with a transaction amount of $10 or more, not including ATM withdrawals.

Members between the ages of 16 and 24 are eligible to open a 1st checking account. A great way to learn about the basics of personal money management!

Platinum checking accounts must be enrolled in online banking; enrolled in e-statements; have a monthly direct deposit of $500 or more; and 10 debit card transactions per month with $10 or more transaction amount, not including ATM withdrawals to receive the Platinum Share Draft rate on amounts $500.01 – $15,000. The Share Drafts (07) rate is earned on any amount in excess of $15,000.01 and on balances of $500.01 – $15,000.00 when criteria are not met. Access your available checking account funds by using your TN Members 1st Visa® Debit Card anywhere Visa is accepted.
When it comes to security, your TN Members 1st Visa® Debit Card has advanced card controls available through digital banking that put you in charge of your card. With advanced controls, you can:
- Turn your card on and off if it’s lost, stolen, or being misused.
- Get instant alerts when your card is used.
- Set dollar limits to keep spending in check.
- Prevent transactions that don’t match your settings.
Digital Wallet
Enjoy a more convenient way to pay by adding your TN Members 1st debit card to your Digital Wallet! Simply add your debit card to Apple Pay® or Google Pay™ and enjoy a new secure way to pay — in-person, in-app, or online!
- Open your Wallet app.
- Click the + icon and select ‘Debit or Credit Card.’
- Scan your TN Members 1st debit card or select the option to enter card details manually.
- Follow any verification instructions.
- Done! Your card is now in your Apple Wallet.
- Open the Google Wallet app.
- Tap ‘Add to Wallet’ and select ‘Payment Cards’ and ‘new credit or debit card.’
- Scan your TN Members 1st debit card or select the option to enter card details manually.
- Tap ‘Save’ and follow any verification instructions.
- Done! Your card is now in your Google Wallet.
Travel Notices
If you’re planning for upcoming travel, make sure to contact the credit union before you leave so we can place a travel notice on your account and know to expect out-of-state charges on your credit and/or debit card. If we are unaware of your travels, it’s possible that your out-of-town card transactions could be flagged as potential fraud and declined.
Our Fraud Department actively monitors for potential instances of fraud and takes into consideration fraud trends, as well as states or countries with high cases of card fraud, when monitoring accounts.
You can place a travel notice by visiting your local branch, contacting us at 865-482-4343, or sending us a message in online or mobile banking. To let us know about your travel plans via digital banking:
- Log in to online or mobile banking
- Click ‘Messages’ and ‘Start a New Conversation’
- Let us know the dates of your travel and the location you’re traveling to.
- A Member Service Representative will follow up with you to let you know your travel notification has been received.
Lost or Stolen Visa® Cards
Log in to your digital banking and click ‘Support’ on the left-hand navigation menu for customer service and fraud support phone numbers. If you don’t have digital banking, please contact the credit union.
